Co-op Program Information for Employers

Our next wave of students is currently seeking 4-month, full-time job postings for the Winter 2025 (January-April) and Summer 2025 (May-August) work terms.

To get started with hiring, please contact our talent partnership team or review the additional resources below.

Undergraduate Co-op Programs

When your organizations posts a co-op job opportunity for Social Sciences students, our system will promote that role to talented students in all three (3) of our undergraduate co-op program options. You can, of course, specify which program(s) meet the eligibility criteria and/or are preferred for your role. In addition, our team can ensure that the same role is also promoted to any additional relevant students across our partner faculties at McMaster.

The three (3) undergraduate student co-op programs in Social Sciences are:

Economics Co-op

Political Science Co-op

Work & Labour Studies Co-op

Graduate Work-Integrated Programs

In addition, several graduate-level programs at the Master’s or Doctoral level also have required work-integrated learning components which qualify as co-op. Program and work term details may vary from the undergraduate details listed above. These are the graduate-level co-op programs available:

Economics Work-Integrated Learning stream (MA)

Economic Policy Work-Integrated Learning stream (MA)

Economics Work-Integrated Learning stream (PhD)

Public Policy in a Digital Society Co-op (MPP)

Cross-Posting Services

Our Social Sciences team processes all job postings through McMaster’s campus-wide hiring management platform, OscarPlus. This makes it easy for employers to have a one-stop experience. We can make sure that postings are promoted to students across all of the relevant faculties and programs. So if you would also like to make sure that your co-op posting is promoted to the relevant students in McMaster’s Business, Engineering, or Science co-op programs, just let our team know, and we’ll make it easy.

Funding and Incentives

Several provincial and federal funding programs are uniquely available to employers when hiring from work-integrated learning programs like co-op:
