Co-op Tax Credit
Ontario Co-operative Education Tax Credit
Hiring a co-op student from McMaster’s Faculty of Social Sciences could make you eligible for the Ontario Co-operative Education Tax Credit – a financial incentive designed to support employers who provide meaningful work experiences to students.
This refundable tax credit allows eligible Ontario employers to claim up to $3,000 per student, per qualifying work term. To qualify, the student must be hired through an approved co-op program and the work term must meet the criteria set by the Ontario government.
Eligible McMaster Programs
The following Social Sciences programs meet the eligibility requirements for the tax credit. If you hire a student from one of these programs, you can request a Letter of Certification to support your claim.
