Pitch Competition Invitation: Startup Survivor

Social Sciences Students: Do you have an entrepreneurial mind? Do you have a business idea or passion project you want to grow? Whether you’re dreaming of launching a business, developing a product, or solving a real-world problem, the Startup Survivor pitch competition is here to help you make it happen!

McMaster’s The Forge is seeking Social Sciences participants to participate with students across campus in a hands-on Summer innovation program designed for McMaster students to transform their ideas into real businesses.

What You’ll Gain:

• Funding: All teams receive between $5,000-$10,000 funding during the Summer term.
• Mentorship: Work closely with experienced mentors and industry experts who will guide you every step of the way.
• Skill Development: Participate in entrepreneurship workshops about business modelling, sales, pitching to investors, and more.
• Fast-track Your Startup: Validate your startup, develop a sustainable business model, and perfect your investor pitch with a communications coach.
• Networking: Build connections with our community of innovators, advisors, and investors. We have a coworking space with free wifi, coffee, tea, etc.
• Pitch Competition: Top 5 teams are invited to compete for a share of $30,000 cash prizes in November 2025.

Are you ready to start your journey? The process is below:

1. Submit quick Eligibility Form before February 24 (Takes 2-minutes to fill out)
2. Attend one virtual workshop & complete startup activity (If you miss the workshop, request a video recording)
3. Submit online Application Form before March 31 at 11:59PM
