Many opportunities and experiences are open to McMaster students even though the opportunities themselves are not delivered by or through McMaster or its recognized student organizations. For example, many government-funded opportunities are open to all students registered in post-secondary studies in Canada, regardless of which university they are from.

Wavemakers is a free career development program that can be completed in 22 hours. It offers professional skills development, hands-on learning with real-world work scenarios, mentorship, and industry connections—all from a virtual campus.

Case Competitions Learn More

Many universities, business schools, and organizations host case competitions for students, where teams present solutions to a variety of business challenges. Quite often the organizers encourage interdisciplinary contributions. As a social sciences students you should keep an eye out for invitations that interest you, because you are definitely wanted as a participant!
