Within your chosen course on Avenue to Learn, navigate to the Content Section and choose or create the folder in which you would like the materials to appear. Please note that you can always move the folder location later, if you wish, including by making it a ‘root’ or ‘main’ folder in your Content section.

Select the ‘Add Existing’ button in with your destination folder. From the icon menu, select ‘LOR’, meaning Learning Object Repository. Information on the Learning Object Repository workflow, and on adding similar resources using Upload/Create, is available on the Avenue to Learn Knowledge Base.

Within the LOR popup, you can search for ‘career’ or using a discipline keyword. Alternatively, you can browse by selecting ‘Repository’ and ‘McMaster University’. (The Social Sciences option is under construction.) Select the discipline-specific career module you wish to import.

You can ‘Preview’ the content in question using the drop-down menu beside the title.

You will be given a chance to customize your experience. For example, because the imported files include images and other files, you may be prompted to create a folder (e.g. Careers) to help keep your files within Avenue organized. You may also be able to choose whether to create a copy or to create a ‘dynamic’ link that will automatically incorporate any updates made to the resource. (Creating a ‘dynamic’ link is recommended at present.)
