SocSci Student Ambassador applications open for 2025-2026

Join the SocSci Student Ambassador Team!
The Faculty of Social Sciences is looking for a team of approximately 20 enthusiastic undergraduate students to join our Student Ambassador Team.
Whether you’re international or domestic, outgoing or quietly passionate, this is your chance to represent McMaster and the Faculty of Social Sciences and, most importantly, help future Marauders feel at home.
Who can apply?
Students from all 12 Social Sciences undergraduate programs in Level II, III and IV are encouraged to apply!
What do SocSci Student Ambassadors do?
Student Ambassadors will assist with various tasks, including:
- 1:1 Chats: Host virtual conversations with prospective students to share your experience and answer questions.
- Mentorship: Support current students, especially first-years, with advice, encouragement, and insights.
- Campus Tours: Lead SocSci-focused tours during events like Fall Preview, May@Mac, and March Break.
- Event Support: Help run faculty events, including those for international students.
- Social Media: Collaborate with the Communications Team to create content for @mcmastersocsci on Instagram.
- Blog Writing: Share your journey via blog posts on topics like classes, co-op, student life, and more.
- High School Outreach: Represent McMaster at local schools and recruitment presentations.
- Webinar Panels: Join virtual Q&A sessions and panel discussions for future students.

Applications are due by September 15 at 11:59 p.m. and previous ambassadors who wish to return must still apply.
