Expandable List

The first step in applying to a co-op program stream is to submit an online Supplementary Application Form.

Supplementary Application Forms will be hosted on McMaster’s secure LimeSurvey platform. By accessing the link below you can register to complete the form, which comes in the form of a secure survey. Once registered, your unique application link will be sent to the email address you use to register. (We recommend using your McMaster email account.)

Forms can be submitted beginning early 2026 until the deadline in early March, 2026. Watch this space for details.

One set of questions is evaluated as a part of the selection process. The second set of questions will not be factored into selection as they are intended to gather applicant information and preferences.

After submitting the Supplementary Application Form successfully, students will be invited to complete an synchronous video interview session via the Kira platform. Please await your invitation before attempting to begin.

Students will be asked four to six questions related to their experience, skills and suitability for the co-op program. The answers given will be recorded on a virtual, confidential platform and reviewed by staff in the Faculty of Social Sciences.

In April of your first year (Level I), all Social Sciences students will be asked to rank their Level II program choices.

Students applying to a co-op program are encouraged to ensure that they:

  • Have taken all required courses to be eligible to apply to their desired program(s).
  • Order selected programs with the most desired ranked first (i.e., ensure that you place the program you would most like to join first).

For further information on how to apply to a Level II program, please see the Applying for a Level II Program page.

Students newly admitted to a co-op stream will be contacted by Social Sciences staff in late Spring following the conclusion of the Level II Program Selection process.

During the welcome phase of the co-op program, students be guided on how to start planning their upcoming academic years, including required and recommended course options, timelines and more.
